Leaves my face undesireably shiny

Hello P&G,
I bought this product due to word of mouth by a family member stating Olay makes the BEST moisturizers. I would completely agree except for the fact that it leaves my skin very oily in the T Zone area. everything else is EXCELLENT. But i dont like looking shiny all day, not pretty . is there another product i can use of Olay that won't leave me with the same issue? or ....

I definatly agree I liked the old formula better. The new formula is a lot thicker and feels like I am putting on suntan lotion. My face feels oily. Please bring back the origional formula it worked!!

I became a faithful user of the old version in 2007, just by chanse. I've had problems with acne for years now and Olay Complete combo/oily moisturizer helped control my skin issues. I was very happy with the old product. Like others, I thought only the packaging had changed, but noticed right away how THICK the moiturizer feld compared to the old version. I continue to use the new version and my skin seems to have adjusted to the change. My main issue with this new version is that I often have to use oil blotting sheets to remove the excess "shine" from my face. I didnt have this issue with the old formula, may have been the oil absorbtion formula that was built in. My Bare Minerals make up did go on a lot better with the old formula....I do hope Olay decides to bring it back!! It seems a lot of customers are not happy with the new version. I may try something else eventually to help control the shine...just nervous as my skin is sensitive.

I have read all the negative reviews and am not sure what product these guys are trying but personally, I love this product! I bought my first bottle last week after trying every other product for oily skin on the markey and just love it! My face is soft, smooth, and not sticky as with other moisturizers...I love it :)

Olay, please bring back the old formula!!! This one is just horrible! My skin becomes an oil-slick after about an hour! The old formula was perfect...why fix something if it's not broken??? Why was the oil-absorbing powder removed? PLEASE, PLEASE bring it back!!!!

I have been using this product since 1978 and went thru 1 change in formal years back and that was okay. But this change is HORRIBLE, it is greasy, oily, burns my eyes and just feels TERRIBLE on my face. My face has this greasy look all day and I can't wait to get it off. After 30 years of using this product I am sad to say I no longer use it. Please Olay bring back the old formula in the Combination Normal/Oily too. Keep your faithful and loyal customers happy.

What happened??!

I have been using Oil of Olay moisturizer for combination skin for the past 15 years. I started using it in high school and had been extremely pleased with the product up until now. I ran out of the old bottle and was just under the impression that the packaging had changed not the product. The product is totally different and feels less like a moisturizer and more like a greasy sunscreen product. I'd be better off putting body lotion on my face at this point. My face becomes ridiculously oily within an hour after applying the new product. With the old product, I had a good moisture balance and my t-zone stayed oil free almost all day. The old product contained an oil absorbing powder in the formula. Why would they think that it was ok to remove something as important as that from the formula. I'm disappointed and perplexed. What possessed someone to try to fix something that not only wasn't broken but had been working exceptionally well for us??!?

I have been using this product since my early 20s and I absolutely loved it!! I tried the new product and like the other reviewers I feel that it makes my face appear very greasy and oily and that it does not feel pleasant around the eyes. I've been trying to search every store for the old formula, but am no longer able to find it and will now have to try a new product. Please bring the old formula back!

Hate the Change!

I was very disappointed to open a new bottle of Olay Complete Combination/Oily to find that the formula has changed. The new formula makes my skin greasy, greasy, greasy! The old formula seemed PERFECT for my oily, acne-prone skin. I'm really irritated to have to search for a new moisturizer that can also stop the greasies like the old formula did. Even worse, I can't return the new bottle because I bought it a while ago and don't have the receipt anymore. I think Olay should refund everyone's money who is unhappy with this product!

I have used this product for about 5 yrs and when it came time to by more I got online to check it out. I noticed everyone else had problems with the new formula. i will not risk a break out so i had to look for something else. PLEASE BRING THE OLD FORMULA BACK. It has worked great for so many years.

Dear Oil of Olay,
It took me about one week to realize you had changed your packaging and formula....I thought I was crazy when i was breaking out more, getting red break-out looking bumps on my face, looking a bit oilier, feeling a bit stickier and my eyes felt like they'd been hit by a chemical wave of itchiness, watery-ness, and looked red upon use of your face lotion. My eyes were just irritated. Turns out usual was reformulated and neither of us noticed until we both had the same experience. I actually got mad at my husband thinking he bought the wrong version of Oil of Olay! The only time I send him to pick up some medicine, toiletries and face lotion and I figure he gets the wrong kind. I felt like a dummy! Anyhow-Your new formula is horrible. Just horrible. In case this helps the LOT number is 9117PRE. Please bring back your old formula! I've been using Oil of Olay since I can remember...at least since middle school. So nearly over 13 years. This new formula is just wrong. It feels heavy, it feels sticky, it made me feel itchy, it caused breakouts and it irritated our eyes. I did say OUR- since my husband experienced the same thing. Luckily Walmart had a great return policy and I was able to get my money back. Until the old one comes back I will be sticking with Neutrogena.

Wondered if it was only me...

I have been using the old formula for the past 6-7 years. Always simple and not greasy at all, and had a bit of absorbing powder that kept the shine away for a few hours. Just bought the new formula, and noticed it made my skin very clammy and oily. My eyes also become quite sensitive to it. Also seems that the absorbing powder was removed too. All in all, it just made me feel quite sloppy and oily -- a total 180 from the formula before. Olay, what are you doing?! The lab has gotten this one wrong, at least for use as a facial moisturizer. Bring back the old formula, please.

New Formula Fail

The previous formulation on this product was excellent for my acne prone skin. I would use it after B.Peroxide to control dryness. It was my daily go to product for my face.
One day I went to Target to get this new formulation with the Avobenzone and thought great...my favorite product is improved. 1 day later, I break out. Searched on the web and noticed the change in formula. Took me a week or so to recover and I was off on a mission to find my replacement daily moisturizer. I tried no less than 7 brands in 7 weeks before I found a suitable replacement. Unfortunately it cost $42 bucks for 1.35oz, which I will have to pay since it seems like the only product that works which also happens to contain Avobenzone (Cosmedicine Medi Matte)
The remaining lotion has been downgraded to body lotion duties.
Please bring back the old formula as you have lost a loyal customer. I felt so strongly about this product I am writing this review at 2:17am and I have work in 4hrs, but wanted to voice my opinion.

I have been using olay moisturizer for more than 10yrs and loved it. I tried the new complete and was horrified - it burned for the first 5min I had it on. Unfortunately I was in a rush for work so didn't have time to rewash. Big mistake. In an hour my face was so red everyone kept asking what happened to my face. I also noticed my skin was very oily and my bare minerals caked to it in places. Yuck! I have not used it in 3 days and my face is still red in spots and is irritated and even flaky in some places. I guess I will no longer be able to use olay. Why did they change a good thing?

Hates the New Formula

I pretty much agree with many of the other reviews listed for this product. I have been using Olay for 8 or 9 years now, and I absolutley loved it! It was light weight, non-greasy, and provided protection from the sun. When I tried the new formula, it was horrible! I started breaking out, my face would look greasy within an hour, and my makeup would cling to it, making my face look caked. In addition, the smell of sunscreen was very strong. As one of the other reviewers, I also thought I had maybe gotten a bad bottle, but when I purchased it again, I realized I had not. I'm really disappointed by this! Mostly b/c I will now be forced to purchase a different brand daily facial moisturizer. Olay change back to your old formula!!!

I am sooooo disappointed! I have been using this Olay product for at least the past 10 years. I bought a new bottle this week and when I put it on it burned! I thought it was a fluke and tried again that night...ouch again! A few days later I am breaking out all over my face and have been really greasy all day everyday! I also have noticed I can smell the sunscreen almost all day long. I will say it again...I am very disappointed! Olay had this product right before, it was light weight, refreshing, and clean. The new ingredients match my summer vacation sunscreen bottle. Not what I want from an everyday mosturizer! I will have to look elsewhere for a replacement! Sorry Olay!

It burns

Unhappy with the product, but happy with customer service. Have been using Olay moisturizer with SPF 15 for as long as I can remember, and loved it. Opened a new bottle a few days ago and found that it burns my skin! The active ingredients have changed, and not for the better. Contacted Olay to ask if there are any plans to change back and the answer is no. I was told the SPF 30 products have not gone to the new formula, and they are going to send me a replacement coupon so I can try it. In the meantime, have to find something else to use :(

I've been using the complete oily/combo for at least the last year and I loved it. It was light but with enough moisture so my face wouldn't dry out throughout the day and not too much that I would be shiny through the day. This new formula feels like sunscreen. It's thick and greasy. The constant humidity down here (in N.O.) makes it really hard to find a moisturizer that will last all day without becoming shiny. I like that they wanted to have better sun protection, but now I have to hunt for a new moisturizer.

I have used the Olay Complete combination/oily moisturizer for several years and loved it. As soon as I started using the new formula, my skin starting breaking out at age 40! It also irritates my eyes the entire day and leaves my skin greasy looking. PLEASE bring back the old formula. Right now I'm trying every other brand to find a moisturizer to replace this!

I remember my mom using Oil of Olay when I was little and her skin was always smooth and beautiful. So when I was looking for a moisturizer to balance my oily skin, I looked for an Olay product. I've been using this one ever since and love it!
